JU observes 54th Independence Day with due respect

SAVAR, Mar 26, 2024 (BSS)- The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) today observed the 54th Independence and National Day with due respect and befitting manner.

Marking the independence  day, the university authorities organised different programmes on the campus.

JU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Nurul Alam paid homage to three million martyrs and freedom fighters of the Great Liberation War by placing floral wreath at the National Mausoleum at Savar this morning.

JU Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Sheikh Md. Monzurul Huq, Pro VC (Academic) Dr. Mohammed Mostafa Feeroz, treasurer Prof Rasheda Akhtar, registrar Md. Abu Hasan, provosts of different dormitories and officials of the university were present in placing wreath among others.

Later, Jahangirnagar University Teachers' Association (JUTA), Jahangirnagar University Journalists' Association (JUJA), JU Officers Association, the leaders of different student organisation and different socio-cultural  organisations also placed wreaths.

Earlier, at the beginning of the day, JU VC Prof Nurul Alam hoisted the university flag in front of new administrative building.

Marking the day, the national flag was hoisted atop all administrative buildings and residential halls.

The entire campus has been illuminated with colorful lights.
