VC of BSMMU pays tributes to Bangabandhu at Tungipara

TUNGIPARA, Gopalganj, March 29, 2024 (BSS) - The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Professor Dr. Deen Md. Nurul Haque today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.


After laying the wreath, the VC stood in solemn silence for some time as a mark of profound respect to the memory of the Father of the Nation.


Later, he offered prayer seeking eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu and other martyrs who had to embrace martyrdom on the fateful August 15, 1975.


A special prayer was offered seeking longevity of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members.


The VC Professor Dr Deen Md. Nurul Haque signed the visitors' book there.
 

Pro-VC Professor Dr. Moniruzzaman Khan, Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Atiqur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Surgery Professor Dr. Mohammad Hossain, Dean of Dental Faculty Professor Dr. Ali Azgar Moral, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor Dr. Abu Nasar Rizvi, Proctor Professor Dr. Habibur Rahman Dulal, Hall Provost Professor Dr. SM Mostafa Zaman Superintendent of Police Al Beli Afifa, District Awami League President Mahbub Ali Khan, Tungipara Municipal Mayor Sheikh Tozammel Haque Tutul, Tungipara Municipal Awami League President Sheikh Saiful Islam, its General Secretary Mohammad Forkan Biswas, a large number of leaders and activists of Awami League and affiliated organizations, among others, were present.
