Ex-Justice Abdul Awal passes away

DHAKA, April 4, 2024 (BSS) - Former Justice and Supreme Court Lawyers
Association Secretary Abdul Awal passed away this morning at a city hospital.

He was 79.

Abdul Awal died around 7:15 while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Chief Justice Obaidul Hassan expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death
of Justice Abdul Awal and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul in a
condolence message.

In a separate condolence message, Attorney General AM Amin Uddin mourned his
death and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

The Namaz-e Janaza of late Abdul Awal was held today at Supreme Court Inner
Garden premises after Zohr prayers.

Justices of the Appellate division and the High Court division of the Supreme
Court, officials from Attorney General's Office, senior advocates, leaders of
Supreme Court Lawyers Association were present at his funeral prayers.
