CHUADANGA, April 26, 2024 (BSS) -The highest temperature in the country was recorded at 42.7 degree Celsius in the district today, said acting officer-in-charge of Chuadanga weather office Jaminur Rahman.

People in the south-western district are experiencing scorching heat as a severe heatwave continues to batter Chuadanga for the past two weeks.

The extreme heat has put the working people in great trouble, particularly the laborers who are engaged in harvesting Boro paddy in the district. Due to the heat, people are unwilling to leave their homes unless it is an emergency.

Earlier, the people of Chuadanga district were asked to stay under shade and drink much water to resist the heat.
