Chuadanga experiences this year's highest temperature of 43 degree Celsius

DHAKA, April 29, 2024 (BSS) - Chuadanga experienced the hottest day today as the temperature in this western district soared to this year's highest record of 43 degree Celsius in the afternoon.

Chuadanga Weather Observatory's senior official Rakibul Hasan said 33.4 degree Celsius temperature was recorded at 9am and the temperature was in rising trend reaching 40 degree Celsius at midday.
 
"The highest temperature was recorded at 3:00pm today," said in-charge of Chuadanga Weather Observatory Jaminur Rahman.

Earlier on May 21 in 2014, the temperature in Chuadanga was recorded at 43.2 degrees Celsius.

He said prevailing temperature may increase further during the next two days.

"Chuadanga has been experiencing country's maximum temperature during the last 20 days varying between 40 degree Celsius and 43 degree Celsius," said Jaminur Rahman.

Chuadanga's Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kisinger Chakma urged the people to follow the heatwave safety tips as heat-linked fatalities were on rise in the country.
