'Innovation showcasing' held at BSS

DHAKA, May 4, 2024 (BSS) - A day-long exhibition demonstrating innovative programmes of the country's national news agency, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) was held today at BSS Bhaban in the capital.

Organized by the 'BSS innovation team', the showcasing was unfolded under the Bangladesh government's e-Governance and Innovation Action Plan 2023-2024 to facilitate the service to the beneficiaries.

BSS Managing Director and Chief Editor Abul Kalam Azad spoke as the chief guest while Information and Broadcasting ministry's System Analyst Mahbubul Kabir Siddiquie joined the session as reviewer of the innovation ideas.

In his speech, the BSS chief said this kind of innovation will ease the hassle of beneficiaries also improve the service quality as well as reduce the suffering of people.

He also stressed the importance of implementing additional measures which would make a stronger connection between the organization and the people.

BSS Chief News Editor (CNE) Omar Faruque, CNE (Bangla) Samir Kanti Barua, Chief Reporter Tareq Al Naser, Chief Innovation Officer Md Tanzim Anwar, Head of Planning Development and Admin Mohammad Ali Khan also spoke at the inaugural session.

During the showcasing, the state owned news agency's innovation team demonstrated their three innovative ideas, digitized services in separate presentations.

Later, Siddiquie declared 'Press release submission system' as the best digitized service of BSS's 2023-2024 innovation showcasing while other demonstrated services were 'Real time news notification system' and 'Group mail submission system'.
