Rain likely over many parts of country

DHAKA, May 19,2024 (BSS)- Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary
gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over six divisions
and at a few places over Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions with hails at
isolated places.

"Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is
likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna,
Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and
Chattogram divisions with hails at isolated places", said met office forecast
in next 24 hours begins from 9am today.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal to North-west Bay.

Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Gopalgonj, Rajshahi,
Noakhali, Cox's Bazar, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jashore, Satkhira, Patuakhali and
Bhola and it may abate.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 38.2 degree Celsius at
Mongla and minimum temperature today was recorded 21.3 degree Celsius jointly
and Tetulia and Dimla.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded
90 millimeters (mm) at Tetulia.

 Day temperature may fall by (1-2) )°C over eastern part and it may remain
nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Night temperature may fall
slightly over the country.

The sun sets today at 06:36 pm and rises tomorrow at 05:14 am in the capital.
