DSCC to remove animal wastes before 24-hr target: mayor

DHAKA, June 17, 2024 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today said the corporation will be able to remove sacrificial animal wastes much earlier than the target of 24-hour.   

He expressed the hope while formally inaugurating sacrificial animal waste removal activity on online platform from DSCC head office at Nagar Bhaban here.
 
Taposh said the corporation’s preparation of this year is much better than previous years.
 
“Our capacity has increased. With our own fund, we added many equipment for waste removal. In the light of our previous experience, our officers and employees have already been transformed into highly skilled and trained manpower,” he said.
 
He said the ward councilors of the DSCC, regional executive officers, officials and employees started working before the previously announced time of 2 pm.
 
“We are now confident that we will be able to clean up Dhaka city much before the 24-hour target that we set to remove sacrificial animal wastes," he said.
 
DSCC Chief Executive Officer Md Mizanur Rahman, panel mayor and ward No, 46 councilor Md Shahid Ullah Minu were present among others.
