DHAKA, June 28, 2024  (BSS)-Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over five divisions and at many places over other three divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country,” said a met office forecast for  the next 24 hours begins from 9am today.

Day temperature may fall by (1-2)°C and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.

A low pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay and adjoining area.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Bihar, centre of the Low and thence Northeastwards to Assam across Southern part of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere over North Bay.

Country’s maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 37.5degree Celsius at Chuadanga  and minimum temperature today was recorded 23.0degree Celsius at Madaripur. Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours  till 6am today was recorded 51 millimeters (mm).
