DHAKA, Nov 24, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh security forces have not sacked any of their officers and members on the basis of any recommendations of the 'Commission on Inquiry' into the cases of enforced disappearances in the country.

Several TV stations are wrongly broadcasting news on this fabricated development, Chief Adviser's Press Wing said.

Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury, the head of the commission, confirmed that they did not make any such recommendation.
 
"The news that 22 members of the country's security forces were sacked on the basis of our recommendation is a lie. It is bogus news," he said.

The press wing said the government hoped that the TV stations would run a correction.
