DHAKA, July 2, 2024 (BSS) - The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today asked former Inspector General of Police Benazir Ahmed and National Board of Revenue (NBR) official Matiur Rahman to submit their wealth statements as well as the statements of their family members.

The national anti-graft body sought their wealth statements by issuing separate notices upon them today, ACC Secretary Khorsheda Yasmeen told reporters at its headquarters here.

They were asked to submit the wealth statements within 21 days.

Yasmeen said the ACC served notices upon them to know whether the members of Benazir and Matiur have assets beyond their wealth seized by court.

She said the preliminary probe of the ACC has found wealth of Benazir Ahmed, his wife Zeeshan Mirza, eldest daughter Farheen Rishta Binte Benazir and second daughter Tahsin Raisa Binte Benazir beyond their known source of income.

The ACC secretary said there is information too that they have more wealth in the country and abroad and that is why the Commission has served notices upon them seeking their wealth statements.
