Saber urges all to work together to make country livable

DHAKA, July 3, 2024 (BSS) - Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Saber Hossain Chowdhury today urged all to come forward to protect environment for making the country livable.

"...To ensure a livable world, we all should work together with the government to protect the environment," he told the concluding ceremony and prize distribution, organised at the Department of Environment (DoE) here, on the occasion of World Environment Day and Environment Fair.

Saber Hossain said the World Environment Day is celebrated to create public awareness on environment, so environment protection activities should be carried out round-the-year.

"We have to increase environmental awareness in our daily life. We should change our behaviour and attitude to protect the country's environment. We all expect a greener, beautiful and healthy world," he said.

Congratulating the prize winners, the minister said: "Let us all come together to protect the environment and ensure a green world for our present and future generations".

Chaired by DoE Director General Dr Abdul Hamid, the function was addressed, among others, by Environment, Forest and Climate Change Secretary Dr Farhina Ahmed and DoE Additional Director Siddiqur Rahman.

Prizes, crests and certificates were distributed among the winners in different categorise - drawing competition, inter-university environment debate competition and essay competition organised on the occasion of World Environment Day and the best stall representatives at the Environment Fair.
