DHAKA, Aug 6, 2024 (BSS) - Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over six divisions and at a few places over another two divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country", said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am today.

The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 34.5 degree celsius at Dinajpur and minimum temperature today was recorded 24.7 degree celsius at Rangamati.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 70 millimeters (mm) at Hatiya.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
