DHAKA, Aug 12, 2024 (BSS) - Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places in six divisions and at many places in two divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at some places over the country.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Dhaka and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country", said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours from 9am today.
The axis of monsoon troughs runs through Punjab, Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to Northwest Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 34.1 degrees Celsius at Faridpur and minimum temperature today was 24.5 degrees Celsius at Sylhet.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 112 millimeters (mm) at Feni.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
