DHAKA, Aug 28, 2024 (BSS) - Light to moderate rain or thundershowers
accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over
three divisions and at one or two places over five divisions with moderately
heavy falls at places over the country.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind
is likely to occur at many places over Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet
divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh
and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country,"
said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am today.
The low over Bihar and adjoining area has weakened and merged with the
monsoon axis. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Punjab,
Hariyana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the southern part
of Bangladesh. Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate
over the North Bay.
A low pressure area is likely to form over East Central Bay and adjoining
area during the next 24 hours.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 34.6 degree Celsius at
Rangpur district and today's minimum temperature 24.6 degree Celsius was
recorded jointly at Bandarban and Sitakunda.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded
36 millimeters (mm) at Maijdee Court in Noakhali district.
Day temperature may rise by 1-2 degree Celsius and night temperature may rise
slightly over the country.
