DHAKA, Sept 02, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted light to moderate and moderately heavy rainfall or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind at places over all eight divisions of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country," said the weather bulletin issued here this morning.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 35.5 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga of Jashore district while today's minimum temperature 24.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Dinajpur of Rangpur division.

Rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6 am today was recorded 59 mm in Cumilla.

The sun sets at 6:15pm today and rises at 5:41 am tomorrow in the capital.
