3 committees formed to scrutinize JS Bhaban's damage

DHAKA, Sept 15, 2024 (BSS) - Three committees were formed to scrutinize
damages of the Parliament House, Parliament Member House, old MP Hostel,
Minister Hostel, Secretary Hostel and Sangsad Bhaban residential areas
according to a release of the Parliament Secretariat issued here today.

The decision was disclosed at a meeting held recently at the Jatiya Sangsad
(JS) Bhaban with its acting secretary (additional secretary, committee
support wing) Zebunnesa Karim in the chair.

The heads of various departments and related officials of the Jatiya Sangsad
Bhaban participated at the meeting held on September 4 to get a briefing on
the overall situation of their respective departments, the release added.

The meeting was informed that approximately Taka 90 lakh -- both from
official and personal funds-- went missing from Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban during
the vandalism and looting on August 5. A decision was taken to take
appropriate action to refund the cash.

Another decision was also taken to prepare a list of lost and damaged goods
of various offices, sub-sections and branches of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban
and submit it to the head of each department.

It was decided to take necessary measures to repair the damaged computers,
printers, scanners, internet connections, telephone exchanges, lines and sets
in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on an urgent basis.
