Moderately heavy to heavy falls in parts of country

DHAKA, Sept 16, 2024 (BSS) - Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over two divisions; at many places over a division and at a few places over five divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna.

"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions; at many places over Rangpur division and at a few places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, according to a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am today.

The Land Deep Depression lies over Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining Jharkhand. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, center of the Land Deep Depression to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
 
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate to strong over North Bay.

Day and night temperature may rise by (1-3) degree Celsius over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 31.8 degree Celsius at Sayedpur and minimum temperature today was recorded 24.2 degree celsius jointly at Tangail and Bandarban.

Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 189 millimeters (mm) at Aricha.

The sun sets today at 06-01pm and rises tomorrow at 05-46am in the capital.
