Cops unearth Wari double murder case, 3 held

DHAKA, Sept 21, 2024(BSS) - Wari Thana Police have unearthed a mystery of the murder of two brothers at Hatkhola road and arrested three people.

Md Saleh Uddin, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Wari Division, told a press briefing at the media centre of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today. 

The arrested were Md Akbar Hossain, Md Asif Sultan Shifat and Md Azaharul Islam Khan Siam.

The DC told reporters that Al-Amin Bhuiyan and Nurul Amin Bhuiyan were brutally murdered by a gang, led by Asif Sultan Shifat, Akbar Hossain and Siam, on the first floor of an under construction building at 10 Hatkhola road in Wari area at 11am on August 14. 

Both the victims went to the place to visit an under construction flat as per the agreement with a developer company. 

Later, they locked into an altercation with Akbar Hossain, owner of the land at that time. Then Shifat along with some of his accomplices beat up and stabbed Al-Amin and Nurul Amin with steel rod, knife and Chinese axe and left the place.

Local people rescued them from the spot and taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where doctors declared them dead.

Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan, elder brother of the victims, later filed a case with Wari Thana in this connection.

The arrested persons have confessed their involvement in the killing to the police, the DC added.
