Swetpatra formulation committee holds meeting in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Oct 9, 2024 (BSS)- Swetpatra (White Paper) Formulation Committee today exchanged views with stakeholders from financial, political and social sectors here today.

Head of the committee Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya and other members were present at the meeting held at a city hotel.
 
Speakers discussed various aspects of economy side by side present status of governance, corruption, electoral process, education, natural calamities and region’s prospective agro-based processing industries.
 
“It was a very meaningful and successful discussion where many regional and local problems came to light,” Debapriya said after the meeting.

Committee Members Enamul Haque, Prof M Tamim, Dr Abu Yousuf, Dr Selim Raihan and Sarmind Nilormi, leader of technical support team Towfiqul Islam Khan and Coordinator of Citizens Platform for SDG Implementation Anisatul Fatema Yousuf also spoke.
 
Debapriya said, “We have to work collectively to explore the new potentials of Bangladesh and take the country forward. Out future prospect should not be spoiled in any way.”

He said the committee through discussion with people would try to unveil the cases of money laundering, bank defaulters, taxes evasion and plundering of public money in the government institutions.

He said income disparity of people and the issues of physically challenged people, transgender community, ethnic minority and slum people also came in the discussion.

People also came up with many proposals regarding the role of the citizens to move forward the country in the coming days with the spirit of recent mass uprising.
