DHAKA, Oct 14, 2024 (BSS) - A total of 14 persons, including former ministers and IGP of the ousted fascist government, were shown arrested in connection with 47 murder and attempt to murder cases in the city.
The cases were lodged with seven police stations of the metropolis for their alleged involvement in the murders or attempt to murders during the anti-discrimination students-people movement.
The Investigation Officers (IOs) of the cases produced those 14 persons before the court of Metropolitan Magistrate (MM) Nurul Huda and prayed with a prayer for showing them arrested in connection with those cases.
The court after hearing the arguments of the prosecution side instructed authorities concerned to show them arrested in connection with those cases and ordered to send them to jail.
The accused were former prime minister’s adviser Salman F Rahman, former law minister Anisul Haque, former social welfare minister Dr Dipu Moni, former lawmaker Sadek Khan, workers party president and former minister Rashed Khan Menon, JSD president and former information minister Hasanu Haque Inu, former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun, owner of Diamond World Delip Kumar Agarwal, former additional DIG Moshiur Rahman, former OC of Jatrabari Thana Majaharul Islam, former journalist of Ekattor TV Farjana Rupa and city Awami League leaders Rustom Ali and Shahabuddin.
