Parwar urges govt. to solve water logging problem in Bhabodah, Beel Dakatia

KHULNA, Oct 16, 2024(BSS) - Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh Prof. Mia Golam Parwar has urged the interim government to take effective measures to solve the water logging problem in Bhabodah and Beel Dakatia areas.

“Influential Awami League men with the help of the then corrupted government officials are mainly responsible for water logging as they obstructed natural water flow by constructing dams and bridges in all the canals,” he said.

He made the remarks while distributing relief materials among the hapless destitute at different water logging areas in Dumuria upazila in the district yesterday (Tuesday).

In this context, the Jamaat-e-Islami leader emphasized the need for taking effective measures to lessen sufferings of the common people through resolving the long-standing water logging problem as soon as possible.

As he spoke to various departments and the ministry concerned, 10 water pumps have already been brought from different places including Bhola and Barishal and they are being installed and more pumps are coming soon to flash out the stagnant water, he said.

Parwar expressed the hope that water logging problem would be resolved by removing the stagnant water from Bhabodah and Beel Dakatia immediately.
 
Later, he distributed cash among 950 families of different villages at Thukra Islamia Wazedia Dakhil Madrasa and Etimkhana and Noorania Madrasa under the upazila.

Earlier, he inaugurated Jamaat-e-Islami offices at Rudaghara Union in Mikshimil Bazar and Atlia Union at Chuknagar Bazar in Dumuria upazila as the chief guest.
