DHAKA, Oct 24, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department today predicted rain at most places over the country for the next 24 hours from this morning as the cyclonic storm Dana over southeast Bay and adjoining west central Bay intensified into a severe cyclonic storm and lies over Northwest Bay and adjoining area and it likely to move west-Northwesterly direction and intensify further.
"Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.", said met office forecast begins 9am.
Country's maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 35.0 degree Celsius at Sayedpur and minimum temperature today was recorded 22.0 degree Celsius at Sylhet.
Maximum rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6am today was recorded 55 millimeters (mm) at Aricha.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
