Teletalk launches online SIM service

DHAKA, Nov 28, 2024 (BSS) - State-owned mobile phone operator Teletalk
Bangladesh has launched online SIM service as part of its efforts to outreach
services to the customers' doorstep.

To this end, Teletalk has teamed up with Bangladesh Postal Department to
deliver the SIM to customers through the post offices.

Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology and Information and
Broadcasting Adviser Md Nahid Islam on Wednesday launched the trial services
at the Advisor's office on Hare Road in the city, said a ministry press
release here today.

Initially, the service began as a pilot basis, starting from 11 post offices
in Rajshahi, Naogaon and Chapainawabganj districts which will be available
gradually in all post offices across the country.

The collaboration between Teletalk and Postal Department would enable the
customers to choose and order their desired SIM number online and collect it
from a convenient post office or have it delivered to their home.

From now on, customers will be able to collect their preferred Teletalk SIM
from designated post offices at Taka 250 or have it delivered to their home
at Taka 300, paying via mobile wallet.

In the process, customers can track the delivery status of their SIM through
an automated tracking number.

The SIMs can be ordered online by visiting Teletalk's website
(teletalk.com.bd) under the "Online SIM" menu.

Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Dr Mohammad Mushfiqur Rahman,
Teletalk Managing Director Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, Director General (DG) of
Bangladesh Post Office SM Shahab Uddin and other senior officials from
Teletalk and the Postal Department were present at the event.
