A three-member apex court bench headed by Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam passed
the order, disposing of a plea filed by the accused. The court also ordered
the High Court to dispose of the matter within three weeks.

Senior lawyer Motahar Hossain Sazu moved the case for Mehedi, while
Additional Attorney Generals Mohammad Abdul Jabber Bhuiyan and Aneek Rushd
Haque stood for the state.
