SYLHET, Nov 6, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman today said the party aims to create a safe country for all.

"We want to make a safe Bangladesh for everyone, where no discrimination based on caste, color, or religion will occur. There will be no ransacking, corruption, bank robbery, or acts of sexual violence," he said.

The Jamaat chief made the remarks while addressing a gathering of dignitaries in the city this afternoon.

He said several active Islamic and patriotic parties have already extended their cooperation to the Jamaat, and many more have expressed interest. "If we secure a majority in the upcoming polls, we will move forward with all of them," Dr Shafiqur said.

He added, "Our allied organization stated they would work to build the country with everyone except Jamaat-e-Islami. But if we are elected, we will also include that party too in nation-building."

Dr Shafiqur assured that his party will cooperate even if elected as the opposition, however, adding, "If they revert to their old habits, we will not spare them in the future."

Talking about his party's stance, he said Jamaat lawmakers will not take any government plots or ride in tax-free vehicles, regardless of the number of seats they win.

"The people will not vote for us to impose taxes on them; they will vote for us as their custodian," he said, adding, "If we fulfill that responsibility, we will succeed; otherwise, we will fail."
