AHM Shamsur Rahman joins as CGDF

DHAKA, Jan 28, 2025 (BSS) – AHM Shamsur Rahman, an officer of the 15th batch of the Bangladesh Civil Service - BCS- (Audit and Accounting) cadre,  took over the charge of Controller General Defense Finance (CGDF), said a release of the Directorate of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). 

Prior to joining as CGDF, he served as the immediate past Additional Controller General of Accounts (Administration).

Shamsur Rahman received BSc (Honors) and MSc degrees in statistics from Dhaka University.  He also received his MA degree in Public Financial Management from the Ulstar University in the UK. 

In his colorful career in the audit and accounting department, he served in various important posts in all three departments in Civil Accounts, Defense Accounts and Railway Accounts, the ISPR said.  

Earlier, he worked in various important posts, including Director General, Defense Audit Directorate, Postal, Telecommunications, Science, Information and Technology Audit Directorate, Local Government and Rural Development Audit Directorate, Performance Audit Directorate, Education Audit Department. 

Shamsur Rahman has vast work experience in various fields, including the experience of public sector financial management, the ISPR added.
