3 killed, 20 injured in Gopalganj road accidents

GOPALGANJ, Feb 6, 2025 (BSS) - At least three people, including two college students, were killed and 20 others injured in two separate road accidents on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Sadar upazila in the district.

The first accident took place around 7:30am today when a bus collided head-on with a truck in Goshgati Bus Stand area, leaving one dead on the spot and 20 others injured.

Police have yet to confirm the identity of the deceased.

The injured were admitted to Gopalganj 250-bed General Hospital.

In another accident, two college students were killed when their motorbike fell into a roadside ditch on Wednesday night in Gopinathpur area.

The deceased students were identified as Walid Khan, 19, son of Iraj Khan, and Siyam Mollah, 19, son of Humayun Mollah, they were HSC second-year students, residents of Gopinathpur village under Sadar Upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Mir Mohammad Sajedur Rahman confirmed the matters.
