DHAKA, Nov 27, 2025 (BSS) - A view-exchange and pre-preparatory meeting between the Election Commission (EC) and representatives of law enforcement agencies has commenced ahead of the 13th National Parliament elections.

The session began at 10:45 am today in a conference room at the EC headquarters in Agargaon, Dhaka.

Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin is presiding over the meeting, which is focusing on law and order matters ahead of the announcement of the election schedule.

Four election commissioners, the Home Secretary, the EC Secretary and senior officials from various law enforcement agencies are attending the discussions.

The Commission said the meeting will review security measures for the upcoming polls and issue necessary directives for their implementation.

It is also expected to finalise the deployment duration of law enforcement personnel before and after polling, along with the number of staff assigned to each polling station.

The Election Commission is likely to release a statement summarising today's deliberations once the meeting concludes.

Earlier, the EC held the first round of pre-preparatory meetings on October 20, where overall election security and law and order arrangements were discussed.
