Dhaka, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) - The UN Human Rights Office will launch its fact-finding report on human rights violations during the student-led July uprising in Bangladesh on Wednesday instead of earlier scheduled on Thursday.

"The UN Human Rights Office hold a news conference at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on Wednesday, 12 February at 09:30 local time (14.30 Dhaka time) to launch the OHCHR Fact-Finding Report: Human Rights Violations and Abuses related to the Protests of July and August 2024 in Bangladesh," according to a UN updated media advisory received here this morning.

At the briefing, High Commissioner for Human Rights VolkerTürk will deliver opening remarks.

The other panelists will be Rory Mungoven, Chief of the Asia-Pacific Section, and Ravina Shamdasani, Chief Spokesperson, said the advisory.

The news conference will be broadcast live on UN Web TV for those wishing to listen only.

The report and a news release will be issued before the news conference.
