Chief of Army Staff visits BMTF

DHAKA, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) - Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman today visited Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory (BMTF) Limited in Gazipur and attended the Board of Directors meeting of it.
 
After the meeting, the Chief of Army Staff visited various factories of BMTF Limited, said an ISPR release.

During the visit, BMTF Managing Director Major General Md Naheed Asgar briefed the Chief of Army Staff about the latest progress of BMTF in the field of production, its contribution to the growth of national industry and its role in the defense sector of Bangladesh.

At that time, the Chief of Army Staff emphasized on the use of state-of-the-art machinery and innovative production processes for self-reliance in the production of industrial goods and defense equipment.

He appreciated the continuous efforts of BMTF Limited in increasing local production capacity, maintaining high standards and contributing to the economic and technological progress of Bangladesh.

The Chief of Army Staff also underscored the need of strengthening cooperation between the military and industrial sectors to ensure sustainable development.

Army Pharma Limited, managed by BMTF Limited, has been producing quality medicines and cosmetics at very affordable prices for the marginalized groups of the country.

During the visit, Quarter Master General of Army and BMTF Vice-Chairman Lt Gen Mohammad Faizur Rahman, along with senior military officers were present.
