DMP files 2,010 cases for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, Feb 26, 2024 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic 
Division has filed a total of 2,010 cases in a single day across the capital 
for violating traffic rules.

This information was confirmed in a press release issued here today signed by 
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the 
DMP Muhammad Talebur Rahman.

It said the DMP has filed those cases and realized money during February 25 
through their regular drives against traffic rule breakers.

The DMP release said that 222 motor vehicles were dumped and 59 vehicles were 
wrecked during the campaign.

These drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets, it 
added.

The DMP traffic division has been working to bring the traffic system under 
smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
