Probe committee visits fire-affected area in Sajek

DHAKA, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) - The five-member probe committee visited Sajek Valley, where a massive fire broke out and gutted nearly 100 resorts, restaurants, and houses in the vale, a popular tourist destination in Rangamati's Baghaichhari upazila.

The committee members visited Ruilui Para, which was severely gutted by the fire, and collected different evidence from the scene.

During the visit, the committee convener, Deputy Director of Local Government Division Md Mobarak Hossain; member secretary, Baghaichhari Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shirin Akther; among others, were present.

Mobarak Hossain hoped that they could submit their report and recommendations within the stipulated timeframe.

A devastating fire completely gutted 94 resorts, cottages, and residential houses in Sajek, Rangamati on Monday.
