DHAKA, March 20, 2025 (BSS) - The government today announced promotion of 196 deputy secretaries to the rank of joint secretary.

The Public Administration Ministry issued two separate gazette notifications naming the officers promoted along with related conditions saying they would initially serve as officers on special duty at the ministry as the fallout of the promotion orders.

Two of the officers to have received the promotion are currently serving abroad as councilors.

The notifications asked the promoted officers to submit their joining letters directly or through email to the Senior Secretary of the Public Administration Ministry.

The notifications said the promotion of any of these officers could be revoked or amended on receipt of any negative or “different type of information”.
