Annual Azan, Qirat, essay competition of police force held

DHAKA, March 21, 2025 (BSS) - The prize distribution ceremony of the 
Bangladesh Police annual Azan, Qirat and Essay Competition-2025 
was held today. 

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam, BPM was the chief 
guest at the event held after Jumma prayers at the Bangladesh Police 
Central Jame Mosque at the Rajarbagh Police Lines here.

Addressing the award giving ceremony, the police chief said, “You have 
to be busy in police work. Still, you are practicing Azan and Qirat, which 
is very commendable.” 

Later, the IGP handed over the crests, certificates and prizes to the 
winners.

In the Azan competition, ASI Sirajul Islam of RAB-8, Barisal has become 
first, ASI (Armed) Md. Omar Faruk of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police stood 
second and ASI (Unarmed) M Mohiuddin of Chittagong Metropolitan 
Police and Nayek Abu Musa of 3 APBN, Shiromoni, Khulna secured 
third position jointly. 

In Qirat, Nayek Abu Musa of 3 APBN, Shiromoni, Khulna became first 
while Nayek Khan Hasibur Rahman of Police Staff College Bangladesh  
second and ASI (Armed) Md. Omar Faruk of Rajshahi Metropolitan 
Police became third.

Among the female police members, Nadia Nasrin Nupur, a constable 
from 11 APBN, Uttara, Dhaka, won the Kerat competition.

In the essay competition titled ‘Islam and Citizens’ Rights’, ASI 
(Unarmed) Md. Maruful Islam of Police Headquarters won the first, 
Constable Mehedi Hasan of Dhaka Metropolitan Police and clerk of 
Special Branch (SB) Sheikh Rezaul Kabir jointly won second position 
and Constable Md. Inamul Hasan of 3 APBN, Shiromani, Khulna won 
third place.

Additional IGP (Administration) Md. Matiur Rahman Sheikh presided over 
the event. Senior police officers and members and a large number of 
devotees were present.
