Joint drive against unfit transports in city

DHAKA, Mar 21, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) jointly conducted a drive against unfit vehicles in the city today.

Such joint drive will continue to keep the city’s traffic system smooth during Eid ul-Fitr, BRTA and police said.

BRTA Director (admin) Mohammad Kamrul Islam Chowdhury said they will assign vigilance teams at all points in the city from March 28 to strictly monitor fitness of the transports and maintain discipline on roads.

Meanwhile, mobile courts of DMP today visited many garages and transport parts manufacturing factories in the city.

The mobile courts visited the garages from Aminbazar Bridge to Nawaberbagh intersection, DMP Deputy Commissioner (media) Mohammad Talebur Rahman said.
