Traffic rule violations: 1,742 cases filed

DHAKA, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) has filed 1,742 cases against motor vehicles, owners and drivers 
of those for violating traffic rules in the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and 
realized the money on Tuesday (April 8) through their regular drives 
against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 260 motor vehicles were dumped and 93 vehicles were towed due to 
poor driving practices, said Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media and 
Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the 
release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic 
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
