Anisul, Shajahan, 3 others remanded in separate cases

DHAKA, June 23, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today placed five individuals, including former law minister Anisul Huq, former shipping minister Shajahan Khan, and Salman F Rahman, former adviser to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, on different terms of remand in separate cases.
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mahbub Alam passed the orders as police produced the accused before the court and pleaded to place them on different terms of remand in the cases.
 
Of the five, Anisul Huq, Shajahan Khan and Salman F Rahman were placed on a two-day remand each in a case lodged over the killing of Sajedur Rahman Omar in the city's Jatrabari area during the July-August Mass Uprising. 

The court also placed former Dhaka-5 lawmaker Kazi Monirul Islam Monu on a one-day remand in the Riton murder case filed with Jatrabari Police Station. 
 
Meanwhile, the court also placed Rear Admiral (Retd) Mohammad Sohail, former Legal and Media Wing Director of the elite force RAB, on a three-day remand in a case lodged over the attempted murder of Badrul Islam Saimon in the capital's Paltan area on October 28, 2023.
