Man gets life-term for killing security guard in N'ganj

NARAYANGANJ, April 9, 2025 (BSS) - A Narayanganj court today sentenced a man 
to life imprisonment for killing a security guard at a booth of Dutch-Bangla 
Bank in Fatulla area of the district.
 
The convicted was Abdul Matin, 55, son of late Hasmat Ullah, a resident of 
Begumganj upazila in Noakhali district.

Narayanganj District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Abu Shameem Azad announced 
the verdict in the presence of the convict.

The court also fined him Taka 50,000, in default, to suffer three years more 
in jail.

According to the prosecution story, in brief, Abdul Matin struck on the head 
of Ali Hossain, the security guard, on September 6, 2021, while he was on 
duty at the booth, leaving him critically injured on the spot.

Later, Ali Hossain, son of late Ohayed Ali, of Horirampur area in Manikganj 
district, died at a local hospital while undergoing treatment there. 

Following the incident, the victim's wife Monwara Begum filed a case with 
Fatulla Police Station. 

After testifying 11 witnesses and evidence, the court handed down the 
verdict, Public Prosecutor (PP) of Narayanganj District Court Advocate Abul 
Kalam Azad Zakir said.
