SYLHET, April 12, 2025 (BSS)- Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki today said the conspirators would not be able to stand before the united force of the countrymen.

“None will be able to deter the festive mood prevailing throughout the country to celebrate Bangla new year with a renewed spirit,” he said in a meeting of views exchange with the journalists at Sylhet Circuit House.

Adviser Farooki arrived in Sylhet on a visit, but made it short following the incident of burning the motifs on Dhaka University premises.

“We want to build a Bangladesh full of festivity, harmony and unity, but the conspirators don’t want it,” Farooki said

The conspirators want to deter it, but, their strength is so weak to challenge the unity of the nation,” he added.

Two motifs created for the Pahela Baishakh celebrations were burnt down on the premises of Dhaka University's Faculty of Fine Arts (Charukola) early today.

The motifs- “Portrait of Fascism” and “Dove of Peace” - were being prepared for the upcoming Pahela Baishakh celebrations.

Mentioning that such fire incident was an act of the cohorts of the fascists, challenging the ‘July spirit’, he said those who do not want carrying of such motifs in the rally were behind the incident.

The government has taken clear stance against the evil force while police has already started to act to nab the perpetrators, he said.

Farooki said in the fascist-free-Bangladesh, all the Bangalees, irrespective of their class and creed, want to celebrate the festival with a new zeal and spirit.

The government has taken initiative to observe the Choitro Sankranti and Pahela Baishakh in an inclusive manner, but some people might not like this.

Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Khan Md Reza-un-Nabi and Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Sher Mahbub Murad were present.
