Jamaat Ameer urges Islamic scholars to acquire knowledge on science and tech

DHAKA, Oct 4, 2025 (BSS)- Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has called on the Islamic scholars and Alems to acquire expertise on modern science and technology.

“Alems are entrusted with the duties to lead and show the path to the nation, and for this they must acquire knowledge on modern science and technology to reach the message of Islam to the people irrespective of religion, race or caste,” he said.

He was addressing as the chief guest at a Dayee and Waez conference held at Al Falah Auditorium at Mogbazar here today.

Mawlana Abdul Halim, Assistant Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and President of the party's Central Ulama Committee presided over the conference. 

Party's Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar and Assistant Secretary General Mawlana Rafiqul Islam Khan spoke at the event as special guests.

Central Working Committee Member of the party and Secretary of the Central Ulama Committee Dr. Mawlana Khalilur Rahman Madani conducted the program.

In his speech, the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer requested the Waez not to be rude or aggressive urging them to be compassionate to the people following the ideals of Prophet Mohammad (Sm).

“You all are entrusted with the responsibilities and we must remember this duty with honesty bearing the sense of strict accountability,” Dr. Shafiq said.

He urged Islamic scholars not to engage in any self-destructive activities that may cause self-degradation or harm the social unity.
 
Prominent Islamic preachers and dayees from across the country participated in the conference.

Former Principal of Ta'mirul Millat Kamil Madrasa Mawlana Zainul Abedin, Chairman of the Trustee Board of Bangladesh Islami University Mawlana Syed Kamal Uddin Jafri, and former Principal of Gopalganj Alia Madrasah Mawlana Abdul Hamid, among others, spoke in the conference.
