Mahfuj Alam meets Turkish women and family planning minister

DHAKA, April 13, 2025 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuj Alam has paid a courtesy call on Turkish Minister for Women and Family Planning Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas in Türkiye. 

The meeting was held today on the sidelines of the "Antalya Diplomacy Forum, 2025," said an official release here. 

Development of the socio-economic conditions of women in Türkiye and Bangladesh dominated their discussions, added the release.

During the meeting, Adviser Mahfuj Alam said the government is working to remove the obstacles to women's empowerment in Bangladesh. 

The government has taken multifaceted initiatives, including imparting training and providing loans, to ensure employment for women, he added.

Mahfuj Alam said the government has taken a strict stance in preventing violence against women.

Minister Mahinur Ozdemir Goktas said the Turkish government would assist in the socio-economic advancement of women in Bangladesh.

She expressed her hope for Bangladeshi women to thrive in their careers.
