Mild heat wave sweeps in parts of country

DHAKA, April 14, 2024 (BSS) - A mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Moulvibazar, Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Cox's Bazar, Bandarban and Patuakhali and it may abate from some places.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) made this forecast for the next 24 hours beginning from 9am today.
Besides, rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, the release added.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 38.0 degrees Celsius at Rangamati and Sitakunda in Chattogram division while today's minimum temperature 18.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Tetulia in Rangpur division.

The sun sets at 06.20pm today and rises at 05.37am tomorrow in the capital.
