Noboborsho concert at Manik Mia Avenue draws huge crowds

DHAKA, April 14, 2025 (BSS) - Thousands of people enjoyed the Noboborsho concert at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital this afternoon.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy hosted the grand concert to mark the Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bengali New Year 1432.

The event kicked off at 3:00pm with a mix of musical performances, cultural displays, and a drone show. 

Members of ethnic communities, including Garo artists and the RNR band, added color to the festivities.

Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki attended as chief guest, while Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen was the special guest.

The concert opened with a performance by the Basic Guitar Learning School of Bandarban, followed by solo acts by Mithun Chakra and Palakar Islam Uddin.

Singers Rakib, Sagar Dewan, Atia, Anisha, and Ahmed Hasan Sunny performed a variety of songs.

Parsha sang three songs themed around the struggles of Bangladeshis during the July 2024 uprising.

Ambassadors, diplomats, and senior officials, including Cultural Secretary Md Mofidur Rahman and Shilpakala Academy Director General (in-charge) Mohammad Wares Hossain, were among the attendees.
