Rain with temporary gusty wind likely at some districts

DHAKA, April 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain or thunder showers with temporary gusty wind at some districts in eight divisions for the next 120 hours commencing from 9am today.

"Rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions", the BMD bulletin said.

A trough of low lies over the West Bengal and adjoining areas while, seasonal low lies over the South Bay, BMD release added.

Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country.

Meanwhile, the rainfall activity may decrease and temperature may rise further, according to Met office's outlook for next five days.

Today's sunset will be at 06:21 pm while tomorrow's sunrise will be at 05:34 am in the capital.

Country's maximum temperature recorded on yesterday (Friday) as 34.0 degrees Celsius both at Khepupara in Barishal and Khulna district under Khulna Division while today's(Saturday) minimum temperature recorded as 19.8 degrees Celsius at Tetulia under Rangpur division, said a BMD release of signed by meteorologist Dr Muhmmad Abul Kalam Mallik.
