Reception accorded to two new SC judges

DHAKA, April 20, 2025(BSS) - The newly appointed two judges of the Supreme Court (SC) were accorded reception at the court room of the appellate division here today.

The office of the Attorney General and the Supreme Court Bar Association jointly accorded the reception to Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Farah Mahbub.

As per the tradition, Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman and President of the Supreme Court Bar Association Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon, in their addresses, presented the life-sketch of the justices. Later, Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Farah Mahbub spoke on the occasion.
 
The Chief Justice of Bangladesh Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed, all the justices of the appellate division and a large number of lawyers were present at the court room during the reception.

President Mohammad Shahabuddin after consultation with the Chief Justice on the basis of the recommendations of the Supreme Judicial Appointment Council on March 24 appointed Justice AKM Asaduzzaman and Justice Farah Mahbub as the judges of the Appellate Division. 

Chief Justice Dr Syed Refaat Ahmed on March 25 administered oath to both the judges. The Supreme Court, after the end of its vacation, today opened for regular judicial activities. The two new judges joined their duties today.
