DMP files 2,480 cases for traffic rules violation

DHAKA, May 6, 2025 (BSS) - The traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed a total of 2,480 cases for traffic rule violations, including driving in the wrong direction, in the capital.

On May 5, the DMP traffic division filed 158 cases against motor vehicles and their drivers for driving in the wrong direction, while 2,322 cases were filed for various other traffic rule violations.

According to a DMP release, 270 vehicles were dumped and 138 were wrecked during the drive.

It further stated that these operations against traffic rule violators will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.
