RU hopes continuation of Iranian support

RAJSHAHI, May 14, 2025 (BSS)- Rajshahi University (RU) is expected to continue the existing support from the Iranian government for the expansion purpose of education and research, particularly Persian language and literature, here in the years to come.

RU Vice-chancellor (VC) Professor Saleh Hassan Naquib made the expectation while Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bangladesh Mansour Chavoshi called on him as part of his visit to the RU campus here on Tuesday.

The Iranian diplomat also held a view-sharing meeting with RU VC accompanied by his senior office colleagues and others concerned in the conference hall of the administrative building.
Apprising about RU's education and research activities, VC Prof Saleh Naquib expressed his gratitude to the Iranian government for its extended various support to RU.

He also expressed his special thanks for sending a professor to study and research of Persian language and literature.

VC Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib assured the Iranian envoy of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard.

He also said an excellent, friendly relationship has been prevailing between Bangladesh and Iran for a long time. These friendly ties between the two countries will be further strengthened in the days to come, he hoped.

Pro-VCs Prof Muhammad Main Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan, Registrar Prof Iftikharul Alam Maswood and Chairman of Persian Language and Literature Prof Muhammad Shafiullah, among others, were present on the occasion.
