JU Philosophy dept hosts interdepartmental debate competition

JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, May 16, 2025 (BSS) - A two-day interdepartmental debate competition, organised by the Philosophy department of Jahangirnagar University, began here today. 

JU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan inaugurated the competition titled “The Philosopher Podium” at 11:00 am at the New Arts Building of the university.

Addressing the inaugural ceremony, Professor Dr. Kamrul Ahsan said, “Debates may not always resolve conflicts, dialogues often pave the way for solutions. We must understand the difference between argument, fallacy, and dialogue”.
  
The competition is structured in the Asian Parliamentary format, featuring 22 teams from various departments, showcasing the university’s diverse intellectual talents.

The event will conclude tomorrow.
