CHATTOGRAM, May 17, 2025 (BSS) - Chattogram Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Aung Sui Pru Marma said at least one-fourth of the country's population suffers from high blood pressure, which significantly raises the risk of heart attack, stroke, cancer, and even death.

"To prevent hypertension, individuals should adopt a heart-healthy lifestyle that includes a balanced diet low in sodium and fat, regular physical activity, a healthy weight, limited alcohol intake, avoiding smoking, stress management, and adequate sleep," he added.

Dr. Aung Sui Pru Marma made the remarks today as the chief guest at a discussion organized by the Cardiology Department of Chattogram General Hospital on the occasion of 'World High Blood Pressure Day'.
